Tina Kashiwagi

Tina Michiko Kashiwagi is a femme, Japanese & Vietnamese interdisciplinary artist residing in Berkeley, California. Kashiwagi’s creative process usually involves a lot of experimentation and “play”. Her work often tells personal stories such as her cultural heritage and struggles with mental illness. Kashiwagi aims to create dream-like environments that induce viewers to feel a sense of nostalgia. Recently she has been most interested in exploring the realm of performance art. Kashiwagi received her BFA in Art Education at San Francisco State University and contributes to the visual direction of Oakland art collective, Macro Waves.
